Harokopio University of Athens announces the official launch of its strategic partnership with the British Council Greece, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement seals the mutual commitment of both organizations to establish a dynamic framework for educational, scientific, and cultural collaboration, offering pioneering opportunities to the entire university community.
The Memorandum of Understanding was co-signed by the Rector of Harokopio University, Professor Georgios Dedousis, and the Director of the British Council in Greece, Ms. Anastasia Andritsou, in the presence of the Vice-Rector of Finance and Infrastructure Management, Professor Georgios Boskou, and Ms. Katerina Fegarou, Head of Education of the British Council in Greece. The agreement, which enters into force with immediate effect, spans a five-year implementation period and aims at the progressive development and consolidation of joint initiatives of high added value.
This multifaceted partnership encompasses the entire spectrum of university operations, structured around five core pillars. First, it provides for the development of novel educational curricula and scholarship opportunities specifically tailored for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students of Harokopio University. Concurrently, international mobility to the United Kingdom is enhanced through educational visits of postgraduate and doctoral researchers to British higher education institutions, whilst exchanges of faculty and administrative staff are facilitated to foster the transfer of best practices and elevate English language proficiency. Furthermore, particular emphasis is placed on knowledge transfer through joint scientific initiatives and symposia. Finally, the collaboration extends to cultural exchanges and joint artistic endeavors, thereby establishing new channels of communication between Greece and the United Kingdom.
