Harokopio University of Athens achieved outstanding performance in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, which is recognized as one of the most authoritative evaluations of research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. The current edition of the rankings includes 2,191 universities from 115 countries/regions.
At the national level, Harokopio University of Athens once again secured 2nd place among the twenty Greek universities evaluated, maintaining the same high distinction it achieved in 2025. Globally, the University retained its position in the 601–800 range, reflecting its steadfast commitment to academic quality and excellence.
In the Research Quality pillar, Harokopio University achieved the highest performance and ranks first among the twenty Greek universities, confirming the outstanding quality of its research activity. This distinction reflects the University’s overall research impact, strength and excellence in scientific output, as well as the influence of its research results, in accordance with the evaluation criteria of Times Higher Education.
